Thanks everyone for reporting this recent epidemic of spam.

I've reinstated the "antibot registration question" mod that was lost when I updated the board. hopefully that will cut it down on the processed pork product around here.

got him... Sadly, the anti-bot question doesn't do anything to bots that are already registered (as this one was, a day before I added the question.) We'll see a few more trickling in, but it looks like the deluge is stopped. for now...

This post seems innocuous enough, but it's completely irrelevant and the poster has a post count of 1. My guess is they're going to sit low for a while and then re-edit their post later to link to some promotion.

I'm honestly torn on this poster. There's just enough topicality in the posts to warrant a second look, but enough vagueness that they might just be a placeholder bot.

Joel also seems doubtful, although both of us want to be careful about offending a genuine newcomer.
