Thread order

I know after you open a thread at the bottom there's an option to switch the order to newest first but is there a way to set that as a perm setting so you don't have to go to the bottom of each thread?

I'll let another moderator correct me if I am worng, but it doesn't look like there is any way to permanent set the configuration to show the newest threads first. Of course, you can do this each time you're viewing a thread. However, I understand that it would get rather tedious very quickly.
