Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away OOC
''Feet square" means so many feet on each side of a square.
This is in contrast to "square feet."
A square that is twenty feet square would have an area of four-hundred square feet.
20x20 equals 400.
I know you know all this math, obviously. I'm only posting this answer because you asked, and I want to dispel any confusion any of us might have.

Hey guys, I'm gonna be out until early next week. I'm teaching some new classes this semester and the prep has really knocked me on my duff. But we're finishing up finals this week, so I should be back in action after that!

Distance from riverbank
about twenty or thirty feet.
speed somewhat variable but
moving about as fast as a man walks(swimming clinging together and riding on trash/busted boards).

Is there enough time for Alain to move to an elevated position, and then cast Hail of Stone to try to kill (break off some rats from the Swarm) part of the swarm ?

Out of curiosity, what are we trying to gain here? What's the goal with the rats?

Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away OOC
Because Christmas is almost here and I expect posting for most players to slow to a crawl through New Year's Eve, I'm capping the chapter.
The game certainly isn't over.
We will resume play January 2nd.
If anyone has more rat-snatching ideas, actions, or rolls, feel free to post them in OOC. I'll drop by to check this thread.
