"Are there any magical tricks you can pull Alfonse? Magical transformations to look as one of the staff? Bewitching someone to help? Creating a false Elissa to make it seem she's still around? "

Fild looks at Aldon "And a few more details. What happens with us afterwards Lord Aldron? Even if your optimism is well placed and the families don't turn the rivalry to a bloody feud, we will still be the lowlives that abducted a noble.
And if your optimism is NOT well placed, you, personally, with the good name and family and all... may need to escape. I understand you may think it preposterous and how would a gnome dare say that and accuse those nobles of bad deeds. Do this preposterous and rude and awful gnome a favor and have a guard or two, that you REALLY trust, with you this day and the next. And a couple of horses, fed and rested near you.
I understand that you're most probably right about how sane the humans would react. But there is a small chance they will react unpredictably. Humans do that Lord Aldron. Trust me. There are LOTS of humans. We know of them and their unpredictable and often violent ways.

I have seen, with my own two eyes a good man, a man that I trusted and still trust, to shoot a man he didn't know in the neck, risking to plant that arrow on an ally's back never-the-less, because he assumed his sister would perhaps be in danger.
An angry brother, a dishonored father, a ridiculed cousin could come after you Lord Aldron. It may be duel. It may be hitting your companies. It may be slander.

You will have enemies after that."

Aldron says,
"All excellent points, Fild, and well-taken. Never fear-- I am being cautious even as I dare much.Horses and men will be ready, as you suggest. And of course, if you all make certain not to mention my part in this to anybody, not even Elissa, then I'm sure I will not be connected with the elopement. Elissa knows Richard's friends have helped pass messages, but I'm not his only friend nor the only one who has helped in the past. So just let Richard tell her after they are married, and in private so her family doesn't know. That way, she can't slip up and implicate us if she's separated from you and questioned by her kinsmen. She's a sweet girl, but a bit naive and I don't think old Master Holbin would have much trouble in tricking her into talking, even if bullying failed. It's best if we control the flow of information very, very tightly, for just the reasons you have mentioned. As I said before, this job requires delicacy. And discretion. If you do get into trouble, I can do my best to help you, perhaps arrange for an escape from jail, as no one will know you work for me. And if the rendezvous and ceremony occur on schedule and the documents are afterward registered at the Civic Temple, I can easily provide your entire party with safe passage from the city. The families will be shocked, no doubt upset, but very soon busy dealing with the implications of the marriage. No one knows you, so you will be able to slip out. If you like, I can offer you work someplace else, at least until the storm has passed. I have multiple contacts and interests beyond Povero."

Fild looks at Aldon for a moment. Then another one.
"I don't want to miss the wedding!" he says finally. "I'll leave after that. I like weddings. Everyone's happy."

"What part do you think would best fit your skills?" Alfonse says in response, "It would make sense for a minor nobleman to have a small entourage upon making a visit, so you could fit in there. Or you could be part of the team doing the second-story work and getting the girl out of there."

He taps his lip thoughtfully. "I'm afraid my student's robes are not quite fine enough for such an occasion. Could I perhaps borrow something from you or a member of your house that fits my size?" He continues, thinking outloud. "Yes, yes, we could make a formal introduction and propose that meeting for more discussion that eve over drinks or dinner. The girl could excuse herself and, while I keep the family busy, slip away."

In answer to Fild's question, "Anything substantial would be beyond my ability, I'm afraid. My most powerful magics could place a limited number of household members under a magical sleep, but the extent of my illusions don't go beyond small tricks. I have ways of defending myself as well, of course, but we're supposed to be avoiding violence."
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

"Second story it is! Whomever is climbing, we need a rope as Tom's is now cut into pieces. That can help us get the missus down. I'm average for tying nots. Damien," she

looks at him. "Can you climb and tie a good knot?"

"I have climb daggers that can help us climbing. As for the rope guess I can buy one this morning, it will be helpful for sure."

"What about Tom's suggestion about houseguard disguise? So that we wouldn't attract much attention outside the house? I doubt the watch would look twice over a lady with a small entourage if her guard, Tom in disguise, is one of the big three houses. Tom's suggestion about Elissa's houseguard uniforms, would be ideal. But if that's no easy, perhaps a uniform from any of the big three, including you house's Lord Aldron, would be a good substitute.

Servant liveries of the Hoblin estate would also help. Perhaps Lady Elissa would deign to dress in a maid's livery to attract less attention. If Lord Aldron can't provide... perhaps our specialists in acquiring-things-without-exactly-buying could help "

Master Folbre says,
"I can provide rope, certainly. Livery, no, it wouldn't be wise. And I don't know that a tailor would be available on such short notice, at least not one who asks no questions. Such a purchase could be easily traced back to me. Rope, a wagon, those sorts of things are so common to my business that no questions would be raised about their disposal."

"Ok no livery. Can you postpone the wedding at midnight please? This will give us more time. At 22:00 Elissa retires to her room at 23:00 we will be there to get her and at midnight hopefully we will take her to Richard. We need that extra hour to hide, evade guards etc.
