OOC: Hard to say. It's no longer rotating as smoothly--you can see several little vortices of metal that are out of sync with the flow of the rest of the shredstorm. But since it doesn't bleed, and it has a generally amorphous character, you don't have a good idea of how much damage you've done to it relative to its full strength.

Hiro nimbly swings aside as more blades pass by him. Moving forward slightly he deftly brings his own long blade into bare with an upwards diagonal cut then moves the sword sideways with incredible speed. He needed to know the defensive capabilities of the creature and more importantly if he could damage it.

OOC: Fighting defensively full round attack action.

As he whips his katana through the swirling cloud of blades, Hiro can feel his blade ripping through the vortex as if it were cutting through heavy paper. Choosing his cut carefully, he steers it through one of the minor vortices concealed in the storm and is gratified to see it spin out of control and form several more vortices, which ripple through the shredstorm, bringing chaos to its formerly smooth movements.

With a grating roar the shredstorm pours backward...and slowly collapses, blades ringing down across the stone floor. "Mine..." it whispers, as a few last shards fall at Hiro's feet.

OOC: You must be living right, Coan. Critical hit rolled and confirmed, even with the -4 penalty for fighting defensively.

Buchvold just finishes the last of his curitive potion as the shread storm falls. He lightly applaudes the samurai .
"Very well done Mr. Hiro. But before anything else happens, I reccomend you drink this"
The Borcan holds out a curitive potion, with the Buchvold family seal on the lable, which the samurai takes, and drinks willingly. Then they begin the long buisness of sorting through the treasures, both takeing their time in checking them for traps.

OOC Both Potions of Cure critical wounds. And a search check, with Buchvold certianly (and possibly Hiro) takeing 10

Hiro kneels onto the debris of his fallen enemy and bows slowly to the ground.

"You fought well..." he says It is right to honor this oni. For despite its intent it was not the intruder. We are the thieves here and it was only obeying its master. he felt guilty, if he could save it he would.

Looking at the potion in his hand Hiro pauses and then pours some of it on the blades littering the floor. If he could not save it so be it, but...

As the liquid infused with positive energy touches the blades of the shredstorm, the liquid beads and skitters along the floor, as if on a hot griddle. A strange keening arises from the blades, then fades away. Something--some presence of which Hiro and Buchvold had only been subliminally aware--has departed the room, and they feel a strange peace at its passing.

OOC: The shredstorm was actually animated by an undead spirit, and it was only "unconscious," not destroyed--passing through the wind wall did it subdual damage, from which it had almost recovered. It would have waited until Hiro and Buchvold were in the corridor, then swept down on them in a final attempt to kill them. Who says that good deeds go unrewarded? :lucas:

You can assume that the rest of the traps pose no trouble.

The pair take their time in disarming the traps. After the shreadstorms attack, neither is eager to be fooled again.

Once their serch is compleated, Buchvold looks for those Items of arcane significance, and putes them into his Pack, leving the remnant to Mr. Hiro. He then goes straite for the center, to pick up a certian marble board. Since it is hinged in the middle, it fits easily into Buchvold's pack.

"Come Mr. Hiro, we must leave this place, before any other traps trriger"

The borcan starts to retrace his steps, back to the now shreaded Mythrill door.

Nope. Nothing awful happens. You can consider this mini-adventure complete from the DM's perspective; you can throw in any additional details you would like, of course.

Hiro slides a long curved dagger into his boot and then restraps it tightly.

He seems to give Buchvold no heed as he checks his equipment. Buchvold thinks for a second that he can hear a slight mechanical ticking or winding sound as Hiro finishes up but then it is gone.

"Not was. 'Is'." he then begins walking outwards to the exit, his profile displayed in the sunlight coming from the entryway. "I believe our agreed sum was 500 roses correct?"
