What hapened to Sergei's ghost after the events of House of Strahd? Is he finally at rest? I read something in mistpedia that said he returned from the grave as a walking dead, but was ultimately put to rest in 499 BC. Is this from Vampire of the Mists? I can't seem to remember.

His corpse was destroyed by Jander in Vampire of the Mists.

His ghost may or may not be around, depending on how much fanon is in your canon (he may be possessing the Ba'al Verzi dager for example).

Personally, I prefer a happy ending for him. :)

One of my player's has the reincarnated trait so I was thinking he could be the reincarnated Sergei. Hey, if Tatyana can do it, why not him? :)

Most definitely! Kinda did a similar, thing because two players were playing brother paladins. Had them start dreaming of Strahd's history as if they were the brother's themselves.... confused them, but that's because I'm the one that knows the most about Ravenloft at my table. :) I'm not sure if anyone of my players knows Strahd's history.

Edit: Needless to say when one stabbed another in the dream one was the receiving end and one was the stabbing end. Both though it was disturbing, to have shared a dream like that.

I love that idea.
