Other uses for the The Hyskosa Scroll

Post by DeadReborn »

I'm kicking off a campaign in two weeks, starting with one of my all time favorites, Night of the Walking Dead. The problem is we will be starting out a year after the Grand Conjunction, so it would be kind of pointless to have the scroll foresee something that has already occured. So, I was wondering if anyone else used it in another way. I was thinking of maybe having it tell of the events that lead up to the Grim Harvest or making it vauge to leave it open to something that could occur due to the actions of the PCs. Any ideas?

The connection to the GC is tenuous at best. I'd just follow your PCs lead. If they show interest in the hexad, find a suitable cataclysm to stick it to. If they drop it, you can safely drop it, leaving it as a sign of the ToUD in the distant future.

I'm probably worrying too much, it's just been a few years since I've run a game. Looking again at the scroll, the entry involving NotWD is last, all the signs will have come to pass. For some reason, I keep thinking this adventure happens before the others, and would need to doctor the scroll a little.

Anyways, back to working on the campaign. :) Thanks for the input.

That Marcel was obsessed with the scroll and Luke went crazy doesn't mean they were correct. You can tailor the events so that the GC has already come to pass and the scroll is now obsolette. However, Marcel still freezes on the night of the red moon because that's his allergen. And it's his allergen because before he died he didn't know that scroll was obsolette.

Speaking of Allergens, The Hyskosa scroll may find itself used for a less dignified purpose during hay fever season  and even worse when PC has an explosive prolapse.

So, gentlemen, that's how it is. Until Grissome.... resurfaces, I'm the acting president, and I say starting with this... anniversary festival, we run this city into the ground! :D

I missed the reference and it seems like a joke I would like to understand. :(
